Tú Y Yo is the debut single by GOD ON TRIP, the collaborative project of Colombian vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Paulo Olarte Toro and German producer Marcus Rossknecht.
Although the two musicians have known each other for many years, it was only through making music together that they discovered what would ultimately define the project: they approach creativity from fundamentally different directions. One is instinctive, song-driven and deeply rooted in Latin musical traditions. The other is conceptual, rhythm-focused and shaped by decades of underground electronic music. Rather than trying to smooth out those differences, they chose to embrace them. The creative tension between their opposing perspectives has become the driving force behind GOD ON TRIP.
Tú Y Yo is a celebration of love in its many forms. While the lyrics speak about the connection between two people, they also leave space for a broader interpretation. Love exists in friendships, families, communities and in the relationship we build with ourselves and the world around us. The song invites listeners to discover their own meaning within it.
Built around a live performance on vintage analog instruments—including a Roland TR-808, an original Butterfish synthesizer and electric guitar—the track blends warm electronic grooves, organic percussion and intimate Spanish vocals with the rough edges of 1990s Detroit House. It is music designed for sunsets, long nights and shared moments—equally at home in everyday life as on dancefloors around the world.
As the first release from GOD ON TRIP, Tú Y Yo introduces a project that sees electronic music not simply as a style, but as a place where different people, traditions and perspectives can meet without losing their individuality.
